Lacking Motivation?
Exercise is a great way to stay healthy and strong. But if you're like me, you'll find that it can be hard to motivate yourself to get off the couch and into your workout gear. Luckily, there are lots of ways to make exercise fun! Here are my favorite tips for making working out more enjoyable:
Work out in a circuit
Working out in a circuit is one of the best ways to get a full body workout. A circuit is when you do a series of exercises, each for about 30 seconds. After doing this for 10-15 minutes, you can rest and then repeat it again until you're done!
Not only does working out in a circuit burn more calories than just doing one long exercise, but it also gives you more results because your heart rate stays up through the whole process. The combination of cardio and strength training will help improve your endurance and build strength fast!
If you're going to work out, you want to get the most return on your time and effort. You can do that by working out in a circuit.
A circuit is when you complete a series of exercises without stopping or resting between each exercise. For example:
jumping jacks
pushups
squats
burpees
jump squats
jump rope
Take HIIT classes
High-intensity interval training, or HIIT, is a type of exercise that alternates between high-intensity bursts of exercise and low-intensity recovery periods. It's a great way to get in shape and improve your fitness levels quickly.
HIIT improves your health in a number of ways. It helps to lower blood pressure, prevent diabetes and strengthen your bones. It also increases muscle mass and prevents obesity by burning more calories than regular aerobic exercises like jogging or cycling.
Because HIIT involves alternating between high-intensity activity and low intensity activity, it allows you to work at maximum capacity without feeling exhausted after just a few minutes—which means you can burn even more calories!
Live by the 80/20 rule
The 80/20 rule is a principle that states that 80% of the results come from 20% of the work.
It's an easy way to get more out of your workouts by focusing on what works.
A great example of this rule working in fitness is when you're doing strength training. Most people know they should be doing abdominal exercises like planks, crunches and sit-ups but don't realize how effective they are compared to arm exercises like bicep curls and triceps extensions. This can feel discouraging if you're only interested in toning up your arms (and who isn't?) but it's important to remember that for overall muscle tone, there are better options than just targeting one area on its own.
As with any type of exercise program or regimen, making sure you're following safe practices and getting quality guidance from knowledgeable professionals will help ensure that you stay healthy while getting fit!
Try swinging kettlebells
Swinging a kettlebell is one of the best exercises you can perform for your cardiovascular endurance. The swinging motion engages your muscles and forces them to contract harder than they would if you were just standing or walking, which increases the amount of energy needed to move them. This increased energy expenditure is what makes kettlebell swings so effective at burning fat and improving overall fitness.
If you're looking for an exercise that will strengthen your grip strength and improve power in both arms simultaneously, look no further than the kettlebell swing! The unique nature of this movement allows both sides of your body to work together as one unit as they alternately pull and push on each side during each repetition. By working out this way, you'll be giving yourself an awesome full-body workout that combines power with flexibility training into one awesome routine!
Exercising should be fun and challenging!
If you’re new to exercise, do not start off with a marathon. Instead, find ways to challenge yourself and improve your health over time.
For example: instead of walking around the block for 10 minutes every day and then deciding that it’s too easy for you, try walking around the block twice in one day (20 minutes total). Then, repeat this process until eventually you can walk around the block five times in one day without feeling exhausted or out of breath when you are finished!
This is an example of how exercising should be fun! It shouldn't be something that feels like a chore or something that takes away from other things in your life because there are so many different ways for us humans to challenge our bodies both mentally and physically—and even socially if we have friends who also enjoy doing these types of activities together!
I hope that you’ve found this information useful and that it will help you on your way to a more fit lifestyle. Remember, there are so many different ways to get fit, so don’t be afraid to try something new!
